Dominique PandolfiDominique's awareness of yoga began as a young girl being witness to her mom's daily meditation and asana practice. Dominique's passion for teaching and deep love for the movement arts, has lead her on a powerful journey experiencing many modalities and self-study. In 2000 she began a comprehensive education of the ancient art and science of yoga with Eddie Modestini and Nicki Doanne. In 2004 she became a teacher at their studio on Maui, Maya Yoga. Dominique has traveled with them as an assistant, and was recently included as an instructor on staff for one of their teacher training's. She continues to study with Eddie and Nicki with a deep love and respect for them, and their unique way of sharing their knowledge.
Other inspirations for her on going passion of yoga include the writings and teachings of Sri T. Krishnamachaarya, Indra Devi, Sri K.Pattabhi Jois, B.K.S Iyengar, and Mark Whitwell. She feels awed, humbled, and blessed by the offerings of this beautiful practice, and it's potential to drop you right into the realization and recognition of source, of love, of God. Jean Marie KokhanovskiJean Marie has been a student of yoga since 1999, when her mother brought her to her first yoga class. After earning a degree in Peace & Conflict Studies at the University of California, Berkeley, Jean Marie moved to Maui on a whim, not realizing that here she would wind up pursuing the path of yoga with all her energy and attention. Drawn to the movement arts, but restricted by joint and alignment issues stemming from scoliosis, she has found freedom of expression, healing, and health through yoga. All of her teacher training has been under the tutelage of Nicki Doane & Eddie Modestini, and she currently holds RYT 500 certification. Honoring the lineage of her teachers, Jean Marie teaches a fusion of Ashtanga & Iyengar styling, balanced with her love for Gentle & Restorative practices.
Yoga has had a profoundly positive impact on Jean Marie's life. She strives to make it accessible, healing, and fun for everyone. She hopes to help her fellow practitioners find a deep sense of ease and comfort with the practice of yoga, embracing its principles on and off the mat. Jean Marie is a firm believer of the adage that as we become more intimate with our yoga practice, it ultimately becomes our greatest teacher.
